SPRING 2013 GALA NEWS!!!!!




Spring 2013 Gala Overview!!



The plans for the 2013 Spring Gala are underway! 

We hope to make this year’s event even more spectacular than ever. Join us for a fun evening on Friday May 3 2013 at Rockwoods Banquet Center in Otsego, MN.  For our new families and community members, this Gala is our school’s signature event and vital school fundraiser! It offers a dynamic silent and live auction, tuition raffle, buffet-style dinner, dessert and lively auction games. 

This Gala is a community building evening that brings the entire St Andrew Catholic School and Church community together to benefit our children by raising funds to support our Annual Fund which is used to enhance school enrichment programs and provide necessary building and security updates. This year we feel there is a critical need to update our school’s security access and safety of our school’s playground. The open perimeter is a concern and a fenced playground would be a vital enhancement! 

To be successful, we need each and every family to help in one way or another.

Volunteer: Join the Gala Committee – share your time, treasures and talents with us…there is a lot to do! Fill out the attached volunteer form or email Trish Shamp at standrewgala@gmail.com or call 612-801-1375. 

Donations: We are currently accepting donations from individuals and businesses. You can help by donating an item to be auctioned or perhaps by asking your place of business, relatives or friends for a donation. Everyone knows someone to ask! Businesses are remarkably happy to donate – it is good advertising and a tax deduction for them! Use the attached request for Donation Letter (also available at school, on sycamore and sent home) to ask everyone you know to be involved and the Donation Form when you have received an item. We are happy to send the donor a letter for tax deduction and credit them in the Auction Catalog! See the donation suggestions for ideas and of course monetary donations are welcome!  Please bring any donations you have to the school!!

Sponsorships: We provide opportunities to sponsor a portion of the auction, allowing more of the proceeds to benefit the children and school.  This is a perfect opportunity for your employer or your business to make a contribution to the event.  Event sponsors will be prominently featured in the Auction Book and at the event. See Sponsorship/Advertising Form for opportunities. 

Class Gifts:  VIP!!  We are asking families of preK-2 bring in items related to baking/cooking for themed baskets. Families in grades 3-5 we are asking for gift cards in any denomination to local businesses. We hope to get a mix of retail, entertainment, food, and services. Please make sure to indicate the amount on the card. If you have items related to family entertainment such as games, movies, toys etc. we would LOVE to have those as well!!

Tuition Raffle: St Andrew Catholic School is happy to announce that we will be able to raffle off a year of paid tuition for the 2013-2014 school year at St Andrew Catholic School. Raffle tickets will be on sale soon.

Underwriting: We provide opportunities to underwrite a portion of the events expenses (such as decorations, dinner, centerpieces, DJ, etc.) allowing more of the proceeds to benefit our children. Consider getting together with several families to donate in this way.

Advertise: Advertising is a great way to support the Gala and promote your business! (See Advertising Form for details)


Attend: Attend the auction or be a table captain and buy a whole table and encourage others to attend! As you can see this is a huge undertaking and a group effort is needed. Thank you in advance for your help.
